Premise

The premise of Proxyism is favor.

1. Favors

The definition is:

A gift bestowed as a token of goodwill. (Random House Dictionary)

One could imagine a world where the concept of “favors” did not exist and everything was business all the time. Life on earth however is different for most people and the currency of favors is ongoing. We can give and/or receive favors at will.

1a. Favor From Heaven

There are favors between heaven and earth. They are called miracles:

a. A drowning boy is pulled to the side of the pool by unseen hands.

b. A little girl who runs into traffic after her ball is pulled back by unseen hands.

c. A woman trips onto subway tracks is mysteriously returned to the dock by unseen hands.

1b. Favor From God

There is spiritual favor between God and man. This is called grace. God allowed animal sacrifice to cover man’s sins in the Old Testament and the blood of His Son to cover man’s sins in the New Testament.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9)

These two concepts – favors and divine favors are at the center of Proxyism.

2. Records in Heaven

There are recordings in heaven of our actions on earth in “books”:

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: AND another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:12)

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. (NKJV)

When we do an act, it is recorded in heaven, good or bad. That means, there are recordings of our sins. Sinful entries can be erased. Under the Old Covenant they were erased by animal sacrifice; in the New Covenant they are erased by the blood of Jesus.

The “other book” mentioned is the Lamb’s Book of Life and we do want our names to be recorded in that book, for without that entry, we cannot enter the Holy City:

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Revelation 21; see Framework for more on this).

The Miracle of Proxyism

The miracle of Proxyism is its ability to change the records in heaven by favors on earth performed by man and respected by God.
